Our reading period is January 1 through May 31.
Unlike many small presses that charge a fee for reviewing submitted work, we prefer to keep the process free and open. However, because we ARE a tiny press and our editors don’t get paid for reading submissions, we DO encourage would-be authors to buy one of our current titles. These sales help offset the cost of reviewing your submissions, so we thank you for your help!

GUIDELINES
Blydyn Square Books is always eager to discover the work of new authors, people who might think they have no shot at getting a contract from a bigger publishing house but who have true talent and something interesting to say. We’re looking for writers who can make us—and our readers—think.
Blydyn Square Books accepts submissions in the following genres only:
• Fiction (including literary, historical, and women’s fiction)
• Nonfiction (including memoir, biography, history, science/health/medicine, psychology/self-help, spirituality, business/success)
In general, we don’t publish romance, fantasy, science fiction, short-story collections, or poetry. We also don’t publish novellas or works under about 65,000 words.
Despite what most other publishers and agents will tell you, cover letters are NOT important. In fact, we HATE them. So, we’re doing away with them. Instead of sending a cover letter, please fill out the submission form below and keep things simple. Let your work (not some silly letter) speak for itself.
EMAIL INSTRUCTIONS
To submit your work for consideration, please fill out the simple submission form below or mail a hard copy of the first 50 pages of your work to:

Please note: We usually only accept one to two new manuscripts per year, and we don’t have enough staff to send individual rejection notices. If you haven’t heard from us requesting your full manuscript within one year, we have decided your book wasn’t quite right for our list, and wish you the best of luck finding it a home elsewhere!
