The Putnams of Salem: The Perfect Spooky Read!
Fall is here, and so is the “spooky season”! It’s no wonder our latest title, The Putnams of Salem: A Novel of Power and Betrayal During the Salem Witch Trials, is flying off the shelves! What’s it about? Here’s a short blurb: It’s 1692, and the people of Salem, Massachusetts, are on edge. Amid squabbles over religion and land and fears of hostile natives lurks the ever-present terror of the devil’s influence. When young girls suddenly begin to claim they are being tormented by local “witches,” a chilling hysteria grips the town. At the center of the maelstrom is one family, headed by the well-respected Thomas Putnam, whose daughter Ann happens to be one of the accusing girls. Survival, betrayal, and the binding ties of a family’s darkest elements converge as we uncover the haunting secrets that bind the Putnams’ legacy.
Author Greg Houle (a descendant of two of the best-known Salem accusers) knows his stuff! If you’re interested in the Salem Witch Trials, be sure to check out his amazing podcast.

New Author Welcomes
Blydyn Square Books is excited to welcome two new authors to our family, Laurie Meyer and Michael Karson:
Laurie Meyer has been passionate about writing since childhood, often receiving praise for her natural talent. After retiring from her role as an executive assistant, she decided to pursue her love of writing more fully. Laurie joined a local Meetup group called “Shut Up & Write” and has been honing her craft and deepening her understanding of the writing process ever since. She now hosts Shut Up & Write and runs a Facebook group called “Write to Reality,” dedicated to fostering a community of aspiring writers.
Her debut children’s book, I Can Because I Think I Can, is written in lyrical prose and carries a powerful, yet simple message. Accompanied by thought-provoking illustrations, the book aims to inspire, uplift, and resonate with children everywhere.
Laurie resides in Edison, NJ, with her husband, Tom, and their energetic Maltipoo, Finnegan. Her two adult children, Brittany and Chris, have embarked on their own paths, living with their spouses and partners.
Michael Karson wrote six psychology books before retiring as a full professor from the University of Denver. He still sees couples online and supervises other therapists, and he still blogs for Psychology Today, but his interests have turned to fiction. The Last Therapist is his new novel, scheduled for publication in 2027 by Blydyn Square.
