About the Author

De Morier became a professional writer in 1994, when he sold a copy of his son’s ultrasound picture along with an article entitled, “My Wife Is Having the Reincarnation of Elvis,” to The Weekly World News. For this, he received fifty dollars and a Bat Boy T-shirt. De Morier has appeared on CNN, Fox News Network, NPR, and ABC, as well as in The New York Times and The London Times. He is the author of Crib Notes for the First Year of Marriage: A Survival Guide for Newlyweds and Crib Notes for the First Year of Fatherhood: A Survival Guide for New Fathers, both from Fairview Press.

De Morier has written seven original theatrical scripts, all produced by Cornerstone Drama of Dover, Delaware. His first novel, Thirty-three Cecils, won the top fiction prize at the 2015 London Book Festival, is required reading in a New York high school, and is being developed into a major motion picture by Hornpin Media and Sunset River Productions. De Morier was the keynote speaker at the 2016 Writers and Readers Conference in Delaware, where he was given a special recognition by Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen for his artistic contributions to the city and citizens of Dover. De Morier was also asked to speak at the Dover Art League event in 2017, where he was given a public tribute by Governor Jack Markell.
