In 2015, Blydyn Square Books released author Everett De Morier’s novel Thirty-three Cecils. Since then, the book won honors at the London Book Festival, became required high school & college reading, was used in prison to teach inmates creative writing, and is becoming a major motion picture.
And now Thirty-three Cecils is spinning off into something completely different: a children’s book. In 2024, Blydyn Square Books plans to release our first children’s titles, including the revamped Cecils, with a kids’ story taken from the pages of the award-winning novel.
To celebrate, we’re holding a nationwide contest looking for artists to illustrate the book. The winner will receive an illustration contract, fee, and byline. For more details, visit our Events page. And be sure to spread the word!
