All of us here at Blydyn Square Books are thrilled to announce that we’ve signed Lini S. Kadaba as our newest author and will be publishing her novel Leftovers After Life.
We’d like to give a special shout-out to the Philadelphia-based Push to Publish writing conference, where Blydyn Square editor in chief Tara Tomczyk had the good luck to meet Lini during one of the conference’s famous “editor speed dates.” (Incidentally, Tara also discovered upcoming Blydyn Square author Christine Heuner at another year’s Push to Publish conference, so clearly the folks at Philadelphia Stories/Push to Publish are doing something right!)
We asked Lini to tell us a little about herself, so here’s what she had to say:
“I am a national award-winning journalist and former Philadelphia Inquirer Features staff writer. Since 2010, I have focused on freelance projects that include writing profiles, feature stories, personal essays and travel stories, and, of course, this novel, rooted in my own experiences of parental loss and memories stirred by what was left behind. Leftovers After Life was recognized in the Novel Character Contest by the Philadelphia Writers’ Conference, and my magazine writing was honored in Writer’s Digest‘s 2018 Annual Writing Competition. My narrative-style journalism has appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Boston Magazine, the Inquirer and its Sunday Magazine, and a variety of college publications, including the Pennsylvania Gazette. The college textbooks America Now and Mirror on America: Short Essays and Images from Popular Culture feature my articles. I earned a master’s from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and English and journalism bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kentucky. I am former president of the Pennsylvania Press Club and live in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, with my husband and son.”
Please join us in welcoming Lini to the Blydyn Square family, and stay tuned for more about her book. In the meantime, you can find Lini at https://www.facebook.com/LiniSKadaba or @LiniSKadaba on Twitter.
